MEET OUR FOUNDERS

Erik Doman

Firehorse Founder Erik Doman

Erik Doman is a former U.S. Army infantry sergeant and career Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. He has worked as an implementer for USAID in support of the US Army and Marines doing stability operations in RC East and Helmand province Afghanistan. He served as USAID’s Stability Advisor in Regional Command East, embedding with small SOCOM teams in support of the Village Stability Operations Program. He has worked as the Interagency Adviser at Fort Polk’s Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana, aboard the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at 29 Palms, California and as a member of the Operational Environment Team at the Joint Multinational Training Center in Germany. Erik has specialized in training Marine Crisis Response units (worldwide) in embassy reinforcement, disaster response, Non-combatant evacuation operations and Stability Operations. Erik is a former member of the career Foreign Service where he served in various countries in Southeast Asia and in Washington, DC as Staff Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs. He has a Master’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University’s Elliott School in Washington, DC.

Jeremy Lewis

Firehorse Founder Jeremy Lewis

Jeremy Lewis is a former member of the United States Peace Corps (Ukraine), Army sergeant and USAID field program officer where he served in Afghanistan for three years. He was embedded as a development advisor with numerous Provincial Reconstruction Teams in Parwan, Panjshir, and Kapisa provinces. Jeremy is an accomplished linguist and has been DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test)-qualified in Spanish, Russian, Korean, and Farsi/Dari. He was a Commandant’s Award recipient at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA for his study of the Korean language from 2002 to 2004. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and an MBA from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Jeremy has worked as an interagency trainer at Combat Training Centers across the United States. He also works as a Financial Analyst for Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College, the Tribal College of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation.
